Birmingham-based consultancy takes the title home from this year’s British Engineering Excellence Awards
ByteSnap Design Ltd, a specialist in embedded systems design and development, has been named ‘Consultancy of the Year’ at this year’s British Engineering Excellence Awards.
Having been shortlisted within the ‘Consultancy of the Year’ category for two years in a row, it was third-time lucky for ByteSnap Design, who saw off fierce competition to win the category this year. ByteSnap Design was also shortlisted for Design Team of the Year, a category in which it was highly commended in last year’s awards.
Dunstan Power, Director of ByteSnap Design, said: “Our team has in-depth experience and understanding of electronic and software engineering, both at a theoretical and practical level. Because our expertise covers the whole embedded system stack, from low-level hardware to applications, we can develop novel solutions that have not been implemented before.
“We also have an open policy on continuous learning, so our team’s collective knowledge and innovations are shared to give our clients the best consultation and project direction from day one. We are always looking ahead to new and better ways to develop and create using the latest technologies and pushing the boundaries of what is achievable, so it is a real honour to have our commitment to both clients and the industry recognised with this award.”
In recognising ByteSnap Design for the award, the judges highlighted the way the company maintains a competitive position in its market through training, development and recruitment. ByteSnap received its award at the BEEAs luncheon on 24th October in London.
Chairman of the judges, Eric Wilkinson, said: “The level of technology and engineering springing from companies across the land is inspiring and the purpose of these Awards is to celebrate that engineering excellence and to highlight the hotbeds of innovation driving the UK forward. In the last five years, we have seen UK companies, like ByteSnap Design, competing at a world level in technologies as diverse as sea based cable laying equipment, diesel emission reduction systems, power network troubleshooting equipment, marine radio equipment, water loss reduction systems, new material developments and X-ray imaging. Companies underpinned by a deep knowledge of engineering and the ability to apply it in imaginative ways. Get it right, as these companies have, and the world will come to your door.”
